Forum: Suggestions & Feedback

I wonder if it is even possible. A single section devoid of brain-dead-name-calling-flame-throwing-inarticulate-zombies... It would take the cooperation of but one Site Moderator or Administrator, and frankly I doubt that any would be willing, or otherwise even able to set their personal bias aside and participate in a mature manner, but having said that--- I wonder what it would be like to have a section of the "Serious Discussion" Section--- that includes "Politics and Current Events" set aside and reserved for adult conversation that takes place apart from the name calling and usual antics that take place on EVERY other part of this board. Feel free to move this to "Suggestions" if you see fit, but this relates directly to Political Discussion. What I am suggesting is ONE Section where we can avoid the nonsense that pervades almost every sub-section of the Forum. If it's an idea that works, maybe it could then be duplicated elsewhere for Serious Discussions that include other topics such as...

For the newer people here, please check the forum lists or search for similar topics that have already been posted. We have a lot threads with the same subject, so to avoid cluttering the forums, please look first before posting. Thanks.

Just wondering if I missed that in the T&C anywhere. What manners are expected of us? Are their any limitations upon our behaviour? I once posted all of Doc Velocitys personal info at amkon. I'm sure some of you even saw that. I posted that shit there because I was not sure that it would be good manners to post it here , however if our boundaries have changed and our ethos evolved I'd like to know. What manners are expected of us here? Anyone?

Well Matt, what's to be said. Once again I find myself at the mercy of your ungracious members to say the least. As good as this site is, it's just not worth being berated by your members and who are allowed to do it consistently to even the people who have been faithful to you and your work for years. Not gonna rattle on about it because I'm sure you don't care. So, have a good life and good luck with what's left of what could have been the best alternative site out there. Regards, BlindSided

The articles posted on this site do not have a place for reader comments. You really need to add a comment section for each article! I just read a goose dung article about "global warming" and went looking for a place to add my professional comment and there wasn't one. The way it stands now, the moderators place the articles and that is the end. No ability for readers to make comments. Looks exactly like the national TV news, and that is pathetic.

If you have criticism regarding the forum, posting them in the introduction section is not the place to do so. As well as suggesting the new members leave and providing links to other forums. If you have an issue, then post it in feed back or PM the Admin regarding the problem.

We have created a sticky in politics and current events regarding police actions that hit the news....

Nice layout... very user friendly. So how come there are so few participants? I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks now, and just signed up yesterday... but it's always the same handful of people posting? You guy really need to market this shit.

An interesting aspect of other forums I have been on is that they post a graph of the number of members and the number of posts each month. I have seen my own interests and posts vary with the subject matter and with the poster originators. Thought it curious to ask if this were a feature that would be considered employed here at AO.

Stuff members would want to watch, and stuff that fits the site theme. Any similar programs : full length, preferably in 1 part to 3 parts or less, please post here if you have a suggestion and it will get put up. Videos can come from : DailyMotion, MegaVideo, MetaCafe, uStram, Veoh, Vimeo and Youtube. If you would like to go about simply adding them yourselves, PM me and I will setup some permissions to see what you can do. There are some requirements I would like to see fulfilled, but I assure you, it's just as easy as making a forums post. I'll just show ya quick ;) It's about this easy to add a video, copy the URL of the media source into here like so, and pick a category (new ones can be created as well):

I'm just asking this because I posted something about a possible Wooly Mammoth. It doesn't quite fit into any of the various sub forums. I mean, it's not really politics and current events. It's not Armageddon and Disasters, it's not really science. It's definitely not Religion or Spirituality, or Conspiracy Theories, or Philosophy Ethics and Behavioral Studies. It kinda not so much fits in Paranormal but when I think of Paranormal I think of UFO's, Ghosts, and things like that. NOT a Wooly Mammoth siting.
