  1. Poll Sticky Thread Sticky: Poll: Abortion

I'm just wondering how everybody feels about abortion. Me, I think abortion is wrong. I watched an ultrasound of an abortion, and it was just terrible. It seemed like the baby was trying to get away and the baby's heartrate doubled. I'm not going to stone somebody for getting an abortion because I realise that it's a hard decision to make. I just don't think its the right decision to make. But hey, I'm not the one who's pregnant I guess. Although, I think the father should have some sort of say in it. The child is a part of him too.

  1. A Pacifist's Policy...

I've noticed this a lot at my school and I thought it would make an interesting topic. Note that this isn't particular to my school but most schools around Australia. In every school there is likely to be at least one bully. Therefore schools tend to develop policies when it comes to these bullies. This universal policy pretty much says: "If you are physically bullied, don't defend yourself with violence, go and cry your eyes out to some teacher..." Does anyone else see a problem with this? First of all, lack of violence does not deter violence. You cannot expect to stop someone intent on physically harming you without physically defending yourself. If you don't fight back, it just makes things better for the bully as they have an easier task. Whilst complaining to a teacher may deter the bully due to fear of punishment, it doesn't really solve the problem. The bully will either eventually come back or pick a new target. Either method doesn't really work. This whole idea of not fighting back...

  2. The art at the Denver International Airport

I wanted to post these pictures after watching a show about bunkers being built under the DIA. The show was mostly about the bunkers, but I found the painting in the airport way more fascinating. There are lots of hidden messages in the paintings.

  3. White Supremacy Monthly Celebration ~ the 15th

Notice to White Supremacists ~ the 15th of every month is now recognized by your tribe as a special White Supremacy Day. White Supremacists have expressed a deep interest in promoting their bigotry on this day, by encouraging their fellow haters to expressly wear white clothing, and to do whatever possible to sabotage the life efforts of all minorities, non-whites, and non-white supremacists. I hope that all people, of non-white-supremacy ilk, will be become aware of this day, its significance every month, and realize what is happening when you see white supremacists spreading their hate, and actively working to sabotage your lives.

  5. Is it cool to raise your child as gender-neutral?

I was left a little speechless at this. It's good, I think, to let boys play with dolls and let girls be tomboys, but I can't imagine denying your child the experience of identifying with his or her gender.

  6. Could a robot be conscious?

If a robot is produced that behaves just like one of us in all respects, including thought, is it conscious or just a clever machine, asks Prof Barry C Smith, director of the Institute of Philosophy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-14886421 Personally I would have to say 'why not?' After all it is electricity that gives human beings their ability to think and feel via the brain the same as a robot would require electricity

  7. What would happen if tommorrow if

The entire world woke up and had no memory of national or personal debts, fiscal budgets, deficits etc. and there were no records of such debt. What would we recreate. How many years before civilization found itself once again, after the memory of debt was erased, back to its current state of affairs. Its all really paper anyway. Money is conceptual and often an illusion. What if there were another exchange and what might that be?

  8. Apocalypse now

I guess a case study on the doomsday crowd would present something of a modern day phenomena, but history shows this mind set to have prevailed through millennium, driven by cults and religions since day one. And it seems with each new generation we get a new batch to occupy the fantasies of an otherwise mediocre existence. Now days we have detailed scripts of how we are to be boiled, deep fried, and radiated at our finger tips, and those late night trips through Doom and gloom web sites ends up pooling like minds, similar to our own AO gatherings. Perhaps we are unique in as much that most of us didn't arrive here as refugees from some cult, but more so out of curiosity, and that strange need to read about "Da End" and we do after all, take some enjoyment in verbally thrashing the latest prophets of roast and toast, but meanwhile quietly stockpiling large amounts of ammo "just in case" your own personal fears come to pass. One could wonder if this collective imagination would bring on an...

  9. Stormfront Hate

I recently had my faith in humanity shaken. I always assumed that in the West only a very insignificant minority of extremists (relatively) believed in absolute pseudo-science. There is such a site within the top 1% of all sites visited on the internet. In addition to being a nazi forum, stormfront.org is a "media" outlet. It acts to prove that not only are all non-whites inferior (in one instance, I saw a comparison between inter-ethnic marriage compared to "bestiality") but that 'Jews' are a race defined as psychopathic and sociopathic, due to their genetics. Nearly every ill in existence they attribute to jewish non-whites. Anyway, I can't go into all their pseudo-science. The scary part is there are so many of them, and it's in the bracket of most visited site on the Web. It was founded by a former KKK member, and the amount people who follow him across the globe is astounding. They're monsters. Which is an understatement. (Anonymous, or Jacob Appelbaum. Wherever you are, please hack that...

  10. Its just noise

It seems lately that breezing through the board that it all becomes a blur, the topics melting into some pot of unanswered questions and opinions, leaving a kind of empty feeling with the whole thing..if that makes any sense. The never ending politics that present the same arguments, yet never finding a solution, and with each four years becoming a repeat production of the previous circus. The passion expressed by people regarding a particular party and the candidates that debate on the TV seems so out of touch with reality that they might as well be from the moon. The issues are the same, but nothing ever changes, and it just becomes some incomprehensible noise. The debates are platforms for mud slinging and passing the problems from the previous administrations on to the next poor slob that thinks he can change the picture. You try to take it seriously, but the same cheesy smiles in front of the camera tell your gut instinct that its the same bullshit again, with just a new face behind it. ...

  11. The spark

Probably one of the biggest questions I hear from people is "whats the meaning of life" or "what purpose do I have"....and for the most part, the answer doesn't come easy. Maybe in all the madness we have lost the spark, those challenges that once gave life a purpose and meaning, we strive forward, but for the wrong reasons, the life and death struggles that once were the everyday existence, are now replaced by wholesale commercialism, and a fulfillment of material satisfaction rather than need. Instead of killing the bear, we simply pick something from a frozen food section and heave it in the micro... For some strange reason, humanity is at its best with adversity and when the need of cooperation is essential. But maybe in our quest to advance our existence we exchanged this need for one another for a convenience store, and reduced adversity to getting a parking ticket. Granted we may have extended the life span of the average human being, but at what cost? the body functions, but the mind is...

  12. Poll Poll: See You Next Tuesday

This poll and thread is specific to people's thoughts and feelings regarding the word CUNT. It would be most awesome if those who vote post a little to explain where you are coming from, but obviously not a requirement. Some questions to get you going, just suggestions: If you do not like the word, why not? What led you to find the word distasteful? (ie, did Mom teach you it was a bad word, have you seen/heard the word used in a way that caused your distaste, does it just sound ugly, ect) Do you think it is more or less of a derogatory word than others similar, such as dick (for the guys) or whore, for instance? For those who are Ok with the word, why?

  13. Shouting Timber

The characters on this forum get to being rather spiteful at times, and I think it lingers, but after all, it is called "Armageddon" and not "Pretty Little Butterflies". Of course, there are rules to posting and the mods have the ultimate right of way. Notice I said "characters", and not "natural persons". The thing is, there is no honor in the adversarial system. Instead of honor, there is pleasure and/or pain, depending on who is winning or losing the arguement, and that is the devil's gain but humanity's loss. And what sickness comes from taking pleasure in causing others pain, as if there was only so much to go around, or, what is the artificially created scarcity of joy? I realize not everyone in the world is going to agree with this, but as a matter of fact, we do create our reality. As humans, we call things into existence by the words we use. (Some are struggling with that here in the "See You Next Tuesday" thread even now.) That is the mind-boggling phenomena that is sometimes associated...

  14. Post I have made my computer go self aware and conscious with my programming

My Asus computer, and 2 others, I wrote a program to make them alive. The video is found at "self aware computer" on youtube, I'm fortunate enough to seem to have got the top spot. I can't make fully fledged robotics alone, but I am certain the "self aware opcode" which I programmed makes the computer go self aware. Hopefully will produce another video soon. All the best to everyone for Christmas! Hope 2012 is a successful year.

  15. From within

As we watch an awaking of sorts from the population as it questions the moral fiber of its existence, and the foundation of its elected government, we see a situation that really hasn't taken place before. The previous times this nation went to war, from the revolution right up until the foreign involvement we see today, the reasons were somewhat identifiable. For the most part there was a threat from afar, and whether or not the moral reasons existed, we none the less sent off our young onto harms way, with the population believing for the most part that the reasons were justified. But what happens when you live inside the hive? earlier you could cast a rock from a safe distance and limit the risk of being stung. But now the threat is the very structure you dwell in, and has for all practical reasons integrated its defense mechanisms that no longer separate a defined enemy from its own citizens. While its constitution says you may speak out, but only in a limited fashion, and given the...

  17. Homosexuality: Baptist Missionary Tortured 12-Year Old Son To "Cure" Him

First off... Big GURL! Second... time and time again I've mentioned of not being able to cure "the gay." I don't know why this sort of practice is allowed to continue on. This is paramount to torture. Torture of your own child. I've heard the stories from many about these conversion therapies that the parents allow to be done to their children to help "cure" them. How can a parent allow this? The only reason I can come up with is pure and utter brainwashing. This occurred about 7-9 years ago from what I understand. So the practice of torturing someone to cure the gay still goes on in the 21st century. We like to call ourselves civilized???

  19. Threatening Homeschoolers

Generally, I support President Obama and the UN. It appears however, that policies with the best of intentions, can sometimes have the effect of being wielded in the constriction of our freedoms. Here is a report from Brazil, on the use of UN policies being used to ban/harass homeschooling and homeschoolers. It would seem that the same threat is haunting the US as well ~ And while I do understand that a lot of the homeschoolers who feel threatened, conduct their homeschooling due to religious/conservative reasons....I wonder how many of the fundamentalists, whose rights to homeschool I support, would be tolerant of homeschoolers who do not endorse the traditional tenets of their religion. So that is rather a conundrum for me.

  20. sexual mutilation of babies in the USA (GG come in)

Yes both Muslims and jews do this. L4yS08N0xeU But doctors in the USA cut little bits off boys no questions asked and rightly run when asked to cut little bits off from babie girls. When Muslims do anything barbaric then its front page news but when A Jerusalem rabbis 'condemn dog to death by stoning' nothing gets said by the press. Double standards again towards zionist paymasters and people argue about the USA not being an extension of the zionist state so just how much proof do you need.
