  1. Thumbs up Sticky Thread Sticky: World of Warcraft

Being that I have just barely became addicted to this game, and I know there are other players of WoW here, I'm starting a thread about it. My son had been talking about it for years and this year asked for it for xmas. I was bad, I got it and now I'm playing it instead of him. MUAHAHAHAHA!!! As of this post, I'm an Undead Warlock Level 4 and I started playing (like really playing, not standing around looking like an idiot) yesterday. Not too shabby for someone who has never played computer rp/pvp games before. My entry into gaming came from D&D, graph paper and colored pencils when the first D&D "blue box/red box" books came out. I didn't get there by meeself. Much thanks to my prodigy for answering my neverending questions and to MM who, despite getting frustrated with me for being incapable of reading that teeny tiny little map in the circle (I CANNOT see a blue dot!) saved my ass when things went aggro on me. My heroes. Yeah I know, I just HAD to pick the hardest character to...

  1. Dead Island Riptide

Got it yesterday, started playing, and can't stop! It is every thing the first one is turned up to 11. They took every thing bad out and improved every thing that was good to great. Guns? Better. New weapons? The staff allows two strikes in the time it takes you to strike once with a regular weapon. Flare Guns, Stun Guns, and the Harpoon! You can stick zombies to the wall. And boats! They're fun to buzz around on the waterways smashing zombies. And the DeadZones! New areas where you go in to kill special characters and collect rare materials. And ooo the Chainsaw! Unlike the last one where you had to kill Jason to get it and it became useless once you ran out of gas the ones in this game can be refueled. New zombies! New types of infected, Frantic Infected, Drugged Infected(Can heal) and then there are ones I haven't met yet. And new missions. Of course new game new missions but new style of missions. Gotta go and collect items and turn them in to your team members or shop...

6KrPWPaDiF4&feature=player_embedded Played the demo, was ok, but mostly Mortal Kombat but with DC only characters. But this fight did look badass so had to post it.

  4. Dead Nation

I just downloaded this game for the PS3, I had a Wally World Cash card to burn. Not a bad little over the top shooter. Aiming takes a little getting used to but for 14.99 I can't complain. http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/27284/dead-nation/images/dead-nation-20101130110121519.html

  5. Demon's Souls

Hory Sheet! I rented the game to check it out, liked it, bought it new for 19.99. I know a sequel is out and this game is old but I hadn't played it yet. Anyways, graphics are ok, AI is pretty good so far, but Hory Sheet is it hard! But I've never been so calm with death in a video game before. Of course I'm also using game guides cause this game just kinda kills you and doesn't tell you why it did it. Very VERY challenging, good for those of you tired of games with "Easy" difficulty. Like the classes but they are just starting points. You can customize your mage to use the biggest baddest axe in the game if you feel like it. Classes are just how your character starts out as. Which is really cool. So far killed one boss, didn't die, but have died so many times from other things. How is a "boss" weaker than a Knight with red eyes?(As opposed to blue eyes which are tough but beatable) You level up by... not sure. Game didn't explain that either. Some thing about soul levels? So I...

  6. My Best Games Of 2012 List

These only include what I've played and finished. 10- I Am Alive, pc... modest survivor-effort, but got tired of only carrying-around 1-or-2 bullets all the time. 09- Far Cry 3, console... pretty-good adventure, but weak side-missions. 08- Sleeping Dogs, console... a trifle unfocus'd and repetitive button-mashing. 07- Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2, console... Treyarch still jams too much at the players, too fast.

  7. Halo 4

don't make a girl a promise if you know you can't keep it This baby's beautiful and dynamic. Well worth the wait. I'm almost halfway thru, and I can hear it calling-my-name as I sit here, typing. I missed Cortana big-time, even her nagging rationalizations on the battlefield. Tho now, she's afflicted with rampancy. She's thinking-herself-to-death, and the ship bringing her home is imperiled inside of a huge metal planet. Old and new enemies are tearin' up the proverbial digital pea-patch. Just about every nuance is evolved and incorporated aesthetically, logically, and lovingly by 343 Studios, who bought-out Bungee. My old pet-peeve about the series continues here as-well, probably intentionally... You never can seem to accumulate much ammo and explosives. Oh well, the save-system is superb.

  9. Borderlands 2

This game is phenominal so far, and likely to only become more impressive as the game continues. Borderlands 2 has everything that the original borderlands has to offer, plus much much more. 87 bazillion guns married to beautiful artwork and explosive effects and hillarious AI makes this game a must see. The AI is highly improved, replaced entirely it seems, forcing more advanced tactics to be a successful vault hunter, and to avoid the somewhat costly new-u genetic reconstruction service. My roommate and I both purchased this game on Tuesday when it was released (pre order was worth it) and have been playing co-op thus far, having a blast, and blasting our way through the now frozen wastelands of Pandora. In addition to a great story, a large world to explore, many side missions and bounties offered, there is a dual level system. Basically you have your regular character level which results in points to spend furthering your skill trees. Then in addition you have a 'Badass' level. Various achivement...

  10. Tomcat Alley... And Other FMV's

I busted-out my 16-bit (with 32-bit adapter) system 'n rehooked it, just to see how far my head has evolved... Inspired by seeing my disk-box of Tomcat Alley downstairs, during a quest to find a spare garbage-bag. I forgot how I was addicted to Night Trap, Ground Zero Texas, 'n TA... The demise of FMV-games (Full Motion Video) and the flashing greatness that was Digital Pictures, Inc. happened too fast to orchestrate a proper wreath-funeral for... It still takes about 2-hours to finish Tomcat Alley and Night Trap, the way the session-cookies randomly align... On some TA-missions, the targets are already jammed too close to the objective, or too much is simultaneously happening in the NT-mansion that the code-changes are hard to locate.

II (Metal Gear Solid) Parappa the Rapper Lightning (Final Fantasy) Nathan Drake (Uncharted) Isaac Clark (Dead Space) Old Snake (Metal Gear Solid) Chell (Portal) Sackboy (LittleBigPlanet) Kratos (God of War) Rico (Killzone) Paul Phoenix (Tekken) Little Sister (Bioshock) Ezio Auditore (Assassin’s Creed) Hybrid Chimera (Resistance) Football Player (Madden of course) And I'm sure there are more.

  14. Diablo III

Long anticipated but was it worth the wait? I picked it up first thing in the morning on the 15th brought it home and it installed no problem. First character was a Witchdoctor and was fascinating. After playing a few hours the servers went down for a good chuck of the afternoon... looks like blizzard screwed up another launch LOL. As of last night they were up but still reporting intermittent problems. I had to try a few times to log in but finally got through and was able to play a few hours. Instead of a skill tree like the old Diablo you just get a new skill or a skill modifier called ruins each level. You start out with one skill slot for your left mouse button and one for your right mouse button. After a few levels you end up with a choice of skills for your left and right buttons. Eventually you open up different powers keyed to the number keys... each number key 1-4 has its own set of unique abilities that you can switch out. As you level your character more slots open up until you are...

  17. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim [Gen Talk, No Spoilers]

Those who follow the Elder Scrolls series are likely poised and excited for the next edition: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I had not heard of The Elder Scrolls until 2002, when I was introduced to Morrowind by a friend. Oblivion was released in 2006 and I became hooked. The first time I experienced an Elder Scrolls game was when I experimented with Morrowind. I loved the concept but absolutely hated the game. I think the reason is because the game was way too complex for me at the time. Too many races, too many factions, too many skills; creating your initial character took a lot of time and effort unless you just ran with a few default settings. Simply put, there were way too many options! I find it funny to say that today. But nearly 10 years ago, and what Morrowind asked just to begin the game, was extremely intimidating for someone unfamiliar with the series. Honestly, I thought "Elder Scrolls III" was merely a title, not a new addition to a lasting franchise. Although I played little of...
